One Month Stats

Kinley had her One Month Appointment!  I really love her doctor.  Here are her stats from the doctor's office.

Weight: 9# 6.5 oz (52%)
Length: 21 1/4 inches (50%)
HC: 15 inches (57%) - The doctor said this is bigger because Kinley is such a genius!  I agree!

Luckily no shots this round, I am dreading our next visit because she has to get 4 shots.

First Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, it is our tradition that the entire family gets together.  I love it!  This year was the best yet because we had 3 new babies in the house.  My cousin Amber had her twin boys, Ethan and Adam, in August so we now have a house full of kids and babies.  Kinley got to meet all her new aunts, uncles, and cousins for the first time.  She also got to meet her Great-Grandpa Bill for the first time!  It was so cute to see Grandpa holding Kinley.  The pics don't really show it but you could see the joy in his face to be surrounded by the next generation.  I only wish that my amazing Grandma could have lived to see all these babies.  She would have loved it.  Instead, I know that she is smiling down on all of us from heaven.  We love you and miss you Grandma!

I tried to dress Kinley in something special for Thanksgiving but all the outfits were gender neutral.  Boo!  I did put a bow on her but it swallowed her whole so we took it off.  Too funny!

First week home

The first week we were home I was still SO sore from the c-section that I could not get in and out of our bed.  So, we all moved down to the basement for a week.  It was like our own little cave.  Matt and I each had a couch and Kinley slept in the pack-n-play.  We vegged out and watched tons of movies together.  It was so nice to have family time.  Matt was SO awesome during this time.  We had a routine set.  He would get up and change her diaper and then hand her to me to feed.  She was eating every 2 -2.5 hours or so. We were starting to notice already what a good baby she was.  She only cried when she was hungry or dirty.  Lucky us!

Macy has been interested since the very start

Happy Halloween!

Matt worked really hard carving out her name in the pumpkin.
It turned out so cute!

Finally Coming Home!

On Monday, October 31, 2011, We were finally discharged from the hospital and headed home!  We left the hospital mid evening and got home just in time for Trick-or-Treat.  We were exhausted but couldn't miss our neighborhood kiddos.  I was SO shocked to see the decorations when we got home.  Our families worked so hard to decorate and I cried when I finally got to see it all.  Thanks everyone!

Posing with all her new friends!

Loaded up and ready to go

First time in her carseat.  We were so nervous

There were balloons, streamers, signs, and a great picture on the mantle.
I was shocked to see the surprise.

This was one the front of our house

Our hospital days

KINLEY IS HERE!!!!! We were so delighted that both my parents and Matt's mom were able to be there that day.  Ken was able to come a few days later.  We had all these plans of returning home and being able to hang out together.  My body and the doctors had different plans.  Unfortunately, my blood pressure would not go down.  They kept me in the hospital for 6 days!   I was so upset that we missed all this time at home with the family but was so happy that at least they were able to visit at the hospital.  This time was a true test for Matt because as all of you know, he is a little ADHD.  He did amazing though.  We were trapped in a little room with a tiny tv for almost a week and he didn't complain.  Amazing.

We had so many visitors.  Uncle Jordan and Aunt Brittany (future aunt) were able to come.  Mariah also made the trip to see Miss Kinley.

Induction and C-section

During the end of my pregnancy, I started having issues with blood pressure.  Although I was technically not preeclamptic, I did have pregnancy induced hypertension.  So, my doctor and I schedule for an induction.  Kinley was due to grace us with her presence on October 26.  I was extremely nervous to be induced but at least it was going to allow for our parents to plan ahead and be able to be at the hospital with us during delivery.

The weekend before induction, my pressure was REALLY high.  We are talking like 190s/110s.  Stupid me thought the machine wasn't working correctly so just let it go and stayed in bed more.  I felt fine so didn't think much about it.  The Monday before induction on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, my amazing mother-in-law Peggy flew in from Texas to help out.  Yeah!!

Matt and I checked into Menorah Medical Center on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.  Upon checkin, my pressure was still high at 193/112.  We had planned on having this relaxing night in the hospital watching shows on FX.  That did NOT happen.  The doctor started me on Magnesium to prevent seizures.  YIKES!  This made me feel like I had been hit by a train.  It decreases muscle control and makes you really hot.  I was on FIRE!!!  We had the air conditioning in the room set down to 60 degrees and I was still burning up.  I got NO sleep that night.  God bless Matt, he was freezing and was drinking hot bouillon and coffee all night.

The next morning they started pitosin at around 7:00.  My pressure continued to be high and thus I remained on bed rest.  The doctors and nurses periodically checked me and I was not making progress.  I was not dilating at all and was not effaced.  The only good part was that my parents had arrived and were able to comfort us as well.  It was so great to know they were going to be there but I was so out of it that I couldn't enjoy them too much.  By late afternoon, I was beginning to have small contractions but nothing to speak of.  My mom said that I was just laying there wimpering and whining.

Around 5 p.m. the doctor came in to talk to us.  At that point she felt like for the safety of Kinley and myself we needed to have a c-section.  I was SO nervous but my amazing husband comforted me and held my hand the whole way.  The anesthesiologist had trouble getting the epidural in and ended up having to call a second dr to assist.  Matt told me later that he was so nervous because so much time had passed and they hadn't come to get him yet.  Then.... we were ready.  The moment I heard Kinley cry for the first time and got to see her beautiful face will forever be the happiest moment of my life.  I could not believe that Matt and I had created something so beautiful.  Our love for her was more than we could have ever imagined.

Ready or Not?  Here she comes....
